Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie was born in Bay City, Michigan (USA) at August 16th, 1958.
She started her career as a dancer. Some years latter she reallyzed that dancing would never give her the life she wanted. So, she starts singin' in her boyfriend's band, called The Breakfast Club. With this boyfriend, she learns to play guitar and drumms too.
Some years latter, 1982, she records a song called Everybody, her first single in solo career.
Today, she is usually noted for her innovative music videos, elaborately mounted stage performances and use of political, sexual, and religious themes and imagery in her work.
In 2000, Guinness World Records listed Madonna as the most successful female recording artist of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of 120 million albums. Her record company credits her as having sold over 200 million albums worldwide. Madonna is the highest earning female singer of all time, according to the 2007 Guinness Book of Records, and, according to Billboard, Madonna's 2006 Confessions Tour was the most successful concert tour of a female artist in history.
In summe, she is an American Grammy award winning pop singer, songwriter, musician, record and film producer, dancer, actress, author and a fashion trendsetter.
